Our washed Maris Pipers are now available in all Aldi stores in Scotland in 2 kg bags and are going down a storm. Great for mashing, eating whole, roasting, or baking, the Maris Piper is a true all-round Scottish potato. How do you like yours? Do you have any great Maris Piper serving suggestion secrets to share? Let us know, we'd love to hear from you whether it's to share a recipe or a photo.
The six-month contract with Aldi to supply the 2 kg bags of Maris Pipers is estimated to amount to around 1,000 tonnes during the course of the contract and the deal will work well alongside our established processing operating to reduce waste. Stirfresh already supplies soup packs into Aldi and recently started supplying branded pre-pack potatoes into Spar.
Andrew Stirling, Stirfresh Managing Director, had this to say on the new Aldi contract, "We hope this will be the beginning of a lot more, which will be good for the North East of Scotland. The combination of packing fresh potatoes for Aldi works well with our processing plant as we can use all the pick off from the packing line, therefore there is no real waste."Back to all news
